Leeds United have had a solid start to the transfer window that can’t be denied.
To secure two arrivals before the PSR deadline on June 30th is good going from the 49ers.
Jaka Bijol for £15m is looking like one of the summer’s brightest deals, as the Slovenian comes with real quality.
Defensively, Daniel Farke is hoping his Leeds side look a lot stronger, but there will still be concerns further up the pitch.
More Premier League quality players are needed, and after what Fabrizio Romano has just said, it hasn’t boded well with the Whites faithful.

Leeds United fans can’t believe Fabrizio Romano’s Habib Diarra announcement
Habib Diarra seemed destined to join Leeds this summer.
That was until Sunderland bid for Diarra, and just like that, the Senegalese midfielder has a medical booked in, according to Romano.
A £30m fee has blown Leeds away in what was a shock pursuit out of nowhere from Regis Le Bris’ side, as Leeds couldn’t even match Sunderland’s offer.
It’s certainly not ideal to miss out on your main midfield target, and this has got Leeds fans concerned for what lies ahead.
Speaking on X, the Whites fans spoke after Romano’s announcement, and plenty of flak has been given to the 49ers.
@LUFCLUCY felt disappointed, saying: “Bit sour about this one, I won’t lie, I fear we’ve missed out on a very good player here fair play to Sunderland because that’s some statement of intent.
@JoshJaques2 claimed: “Another ‘ambitious’ window with our preferred target going elsewhere. Laughable.”
@1919LS110ES was perplexed, saying: “How can Sunderland blow us out of the water for Diarra?”
“Well, that’s embarrassing,” @knowlesm said.
@LamNam was confused with the situation: “Big statement from them, seems a bit odd that if we wanted him, we wouldn’t meet the fee. Don’t know enough about him to say if he’s worth that, but seems a good player. On to the next…”
@whoisdougie is not happy with the 49ers, saying: “You’ve got to laugh at us dragging our feet over a couple of million really. Typical Leeds behaviour. Show our interest for most of the window, and then bam. Income another team with a higher bid. Looking like a bit of a shambles for the 49ers tbf.”

Leeds’ Diarra alternative will be much better value for money
Although the 21-year-old comes with plenty of promise, it’s unknown yet whether he can replicate his trade in the Premier League.
Obviously, Diarra shone against England, scoring a crucial goal, which points to it being a solid signing.
But the 49ers have a much better alternative up their sleeve, as Douglas Luiz sees Leeds as his ‘most viable’ option this summer, with his Juventus exit likely.
£25m has been quoted for Luiz’s signature, and going off a comparison with Diarra, this looks to be much better value for money.
| Habib Diarra 24/25 Ligue 1 statistics | Douglas Luiz’s 23/24 Premier League statistics | |
| Games played | 30 | 35 |
| Goal involvements | 9 (4G+5A) | 14 (9G+5A) |
| Pass accuracy % | 86.5% | 89.4% |
| Chances created | 27 | 53 |
| Duels won per 90 | 3.78 | 4.44 |
The only downside is agreeing on personal terms, as Luiz might be reluctant to join a team that could be in a relegation battle.
Nevertheless, this deal looks more reasonable and will have fans forgetting all about Diarra.
