Back in the summer of 2020 after promotion, Leeds United were in the market for a defender and Tosin Adarabioyo was linked. Now, the Fulham man can help Leeds keep Joe Rodon at Elland Road.

Rodon, 26, has been exceptional for Leeds this season. Team Talk state that Spurs are open to selling the Wales star permanently for £20m, a fee that may be deemed quite high given his deal ends in 2025.

A player that even Ethan Ampadu has urged to stay, commenting on his Instagram post following the win over Middlesbrough on Saturday. Rodon produced a goal-saving block to help Leeds win on Saturday.

Keeping the Welshman, whatever League we are in next season, is of utmost importance. Especially, with the likelihood being that Liam Cooper could be in his final season. Spurs could choose to keep him.

That is because of their lack of options at centre-back. Cristian Romero’s ban and Micky van de Ven’s hamstring injury, full-backs Ben Davies and Emerson Royal are playing in the middle – out of position.

Leeds wanted Tosin Adarabioyo; He can help us keep Joe Rodon

That lack of options at centre-back could tempt Spurs to keep Rodon and ignore a permanent move from Leeds. But that changes, if Spurs can sign a new centre-back. It then helps Leeds keep Rodon.

90Min said Leeds were in the mix for Adarabioyo, the summer after Leeds were promoted in 2020. Marcelo Bielsa wanted the defender, who was at Manchester City. But he joined Fulham, for just £2m.

Now, Football London say the old Leeds target is now wanted by Tottenham despite his injury issues this season. Signing Adarabioyo would see Spurs lose any need for Rodon, helping us land the Welshman.
