TeamTalk claim Tottenham Hotspur are open to the permanent sale of on-loan Leeds United centre-back Joe Rodon but the London club are requesting a fee of £20m for the in-form Welsh giant.
Rodon, 26, has been on fire for Leeds since joining the club on loan from Spurs in the summer. He has helped Leeds keep five clean sheets in 13 games – conceding only 11 times in those matches this term.
He has formed a wonderful partnership with Pascal Struijk in the middle of the defence but has also played with Liam Cooper. After three tricky years, Rodon seems to have finally found himself a home.
That is according to Tottenham teammate Ben Davies, who declared himself delighted to see Rodon – one of his best friends in football – impressing at Elland Road. Leeds then, will want Rodon permanently.
In the summer, Phil Hay claims Leeds initially made a permanent move for Rodon in talks – but were told he would cost £15m, deemed too expensive by Leeds. A loan deal was organised between the clubs.

Tottenham open to Joe Rodon sale; Leeds need to pay £20m
Now, an update. The report from TeamTalk claims Spurs are still open to the permanent exit of Rodon. This is despite Tottenham’s lack of options – with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven unavailable.
However, Leeds are said to have to pay a fee of £20m to land Rodon. An expensive fee, not least as Spurs would gain a profit of £5m. But there is no doubt that the defender is worth that kind of cash.
It might be a case of having to sell a few players in order to raise that kind of fee. Rodon seems happy, but he is a Premier League quality defender. Promotion – for Rodon, and financially, could be required.
