Leeds United told it would be a risk to hire Liam Rosenior as a replacement for Daniel Farke

The pressure is mounting on Daniel Farke after three Premier League games without a win and two losses in a row, after Saturday’s disappointing and frustrating defeat to Burnley.

Leeds were one shot shy of attempting 20 efforts on Martin Dubravka’s goal and boasted an XG north of 2.5. However, Leeds were unable to find the back of the net for the first time since losing to Fulham.

Instead, Burnley took advantage of their two openings. A gorgeous Kyle Walker cross after a Karl Darlow mistake allowed Lesley Ugochukwu to score, before substitute Loum Tchaouna scored a superb goal.

Tchaouna says Darlow was to blame for his goal, as the former Lazio star took aim from 25 yards and nestled an effort in the top corner of the Wales no.1’s goal. The pressure is growing on Leeds boss Farke.

While it is premature to discuss the sack for Farke after eight points from eight games, there is plenty of scrutiny. Farke has failed to build on a good start, and Leeds are now looking over their shoulder already.

Leeds considered replacing Farke in the summer, only for Jose Mourinho to reportedly reject the Elland Road job. Now, on BBC Radio Leeds, Aidy White was asked about Strasbourg’s impressive Liam Rosenior.

He responded by declaring it would be a risk to hire anyone without Premier League experience as a manager, before naming Sean Dyche as a possibility. Dyche is one of the front-runners for the Forest job.

“It’s a huge gamble to put someone in without any Premier League experience [Rosenior]. You have people like Sean Dyche with Premier League experience, but do you want to go down that route?”

The November break will look daunting for Leeds boss Farke

That’s two losses in a row for Farke, and if Leeds are to survive relegation from the Premier League, they need to go into the fixtures after the November break with points in the bank, above a point a game.

No-one will blame Farke for a poor run of results during the winter. After the November break, Leeds face Villa, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool twice, Brentford and then Sunderland before the turn of the year.

That means, Leeds need points in the bank before that run of games. They need to get a result against West Ham at Elland Road next week, and try to avoid defeat at Brighton and then Nottingham Forest.

White says the next three games will determine Farke’s future. The November break gives Leeds time to replace him, and that will be daunting for Farke. That, or he retains his job, knowing worse is to come.
