Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow has discussed his current form in the Premier League after enjoying an extended run in the first team under Daniel Farke.
Karl Darlow has been forced to wait for his chance in the Leeds first team after joining under Daniel Farke following the Whites’ relegation to the Championship.
The former Newcastle United shotstopper was the second-choice goalkeeper behind Illan Meslier for much of Leeds’ time in the second tier, only displacing the Frenchman in the closing stages of the title race last season.
The arrival of Lucas Perri seemingly meant Darlow was set for another spell on the bench at Elland Road. However, an injury to the Brazilian handed Darlow the chance to impress in the Premier League.
Darlow has impressed since returning to Leeds’ first team, and he has now responded to suggestions that he is in the best form of his career as he prepares to face England at Wembley with Wales.

Karl Darlow addresses his form with Leeds United
Speaking in the press conference ahead of Wales’ game at Wembley, Darlow addressed his run of strong form for Leeds.
Despite receiving criticism from Ben Foster for his role in Tottenham’s two goals against Leeds at the weekend, Darlow has been impressive in Perri’s absence.
Asked if he is in the best run of form in his career to date, the Wales international said: “Yeah, potentially.
“I played at the back end of last season in the Championship, and I had a run of games there where I felt I’d done well. I’m playing in the Premier League, which is obviously the highest level.
He added: “I’m old enough now to know that that is how careers go, and never get too high, never get too low and make sure that I’m consistent in my habits in terms of what I do day in, day out.
“Make sure I’m available for every match day that I can be in terms of not being injured and being in the best possible shape that I can be. That’s all I can do, and I know that that is what I do week in, week out.”

Daniel Farke has a big decision to make on his goalkeeper
Although Darlow has looked solid since stepping into the Leeds side to cover for the injured Perri, he is not guaranteed to retain his place when Leeds return to action after the international break.
Perri had looked shaky at times during the opening weeks of the season, particularly in the heavy defeat against Arsenal, prompting Beren Cross to suggest that Farke will stick with Darlow after the break.
However, having paid £15 million to sign Perri and handed him the number one shirt, Farke may prefer to bring his first-choice goalkeeper back in for the game against Burnley.
