Leeds United are on the hunt for January additions to bolster Daniel Farke’s pursuit of automatic promotion and the Whites are said to be interested in signing Bournemouth’s David Brooks on loan.

Brooks, 26, is back in action after a difficult couple of years after struggling with cancer. But, the Wales star is fit and fighting again, after overcoming the issues. He has now played 14 times during 2023-24.

Leeds and Bournemouth have been in the midst of plenty of transfer battles during the last few months. Karl Darlow was the subject of interest from both. Max Aarons chose Bournemouth at the last minute.

Then of course, in the final few minutes of the summer window, Jaidon Anthony and Luis Sinisterra swapped sides. USA skipper Tyler Adams joined the Cherries for a fee believed to be around £23million.

Now, TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook claims Leeds could look to raid Bournemouth again. He claims that both Leeds and Southampton are keen on landing former Sheffield United man Brooks on loan in January.

Leeds and Southampton want Bournemouth star David Brooks

Brooks is a top player – and a player that has been on our radar before. Under Marcelo Bielsa, reports suggested that the Argentine legend felt Brooks would be ‘perfect’ for us. But a move did not happen.

Do Leeds need another winger? Right now, no. Leeds have Dan James, Cree Summerville, Ian Poveda, Willy Gnonto and Anthony. But Brooks is not just a winger. He is also capable of playing as a number 10.

That is one position that Leeds do need. A playmaker – having failed to sign one in the summer despite moves for Nadiem Amiri and Matt O’Riley. Brooks would be a wonderful signing at Championship level.
