Ben Parker tells Leeds what to do with £23m fee received for Tyler Adams, as 49ers enter market

Ben Parker has told LS11 that Leeds United need to use the £23m fee received for Tyler Adams in the transfer market to bring in two or three quality players that instantly impact Daniel Farke’s starting XI.

Adams has signed a five-year deal at Bournemouth, leaving for a fee of £23m plus future add-ons. It finally sees Leeds have some money to spend, and Financial Fairplay is slightly eased. New signings.

Over the last couple of days – plenty have been linked. Joel Piroe, John Paintsil, Glen Kamara, Cameron Archer, Jonjo Shelvey, Lewis O’Brien and plenty more. Nothing materialised just yet – but it is positive.

Ex-Leeds defender Parker was asked about the sale of USA skipper Adams and he has urged Leeds to spend the money on two or three stars that improve the starting XI. A midfielder seems to be a priority.

“Good fee for him in the end. Want to see is that fee reinvested into the squad. Bring two or three bodies in. Players with good quality, impact the starting XI. I’m sure there is work going on behind the scenes.”

The feeling might have been that with Willy Gnonto set to stay, and little interest coming in the way of Luis Sinisterra, that the Adams fee might have been needed to bring in depth at Leeds for Farke to use.

There is the need to bring in more than just two or three new signings over the next couple of weeks. But, we do have plenty out injured and if we can get three very solid additions, it would massively help.
