Leeds United host Luton Town at Elland Road tonight but both of their Championship loanees were in action on Tuesday.
Seven fixtures in England’s second tier took place in the first round of midweek fixtures as Leeds dropped all the way from first to fourth due to results at Sheffield United, Burnley and Sunderland.
But it is at the other end of the table where Leeds‘ two loanees are fighting with Sam Greenwood at Preston North End and Darko Gyabi at Plymouth Argyle.
Greenwood has been on fire at PNE recently with four goals in six matches but was unable to get on the scoresheet as they drew 0-0 at Stoke City.
Meanwhile, Gyabi has had a much more up and down time of it at Argyle, though last night’s trip to Norwich City can very much be filed under the latter.

Leeds loanee Darko Gyabi struggles in Plymouth loss
Plymouth have been poor all season away from home under Wayne Rooney with Leeds among the many sides to have beaten them comfortably.
However, Norwich took that to a new level as Borja Sainz netted a hattrick on the way to picking up a massive 6-1 victory over Gyabi’s side.
Naturally, Plymouth Herald‘s post-match player ratings piece had no one playing well and Gyabi was among those handed a measly 3/10.
The on-loan Leeds man is said to have had ‘very little impact’ at Carrow Road and wasted one of their only good moments to get Plymouth back in the game at 1-0 down.
They wrote: “Darko Gyabi 3 – Had a shot from 20 yards out after a good break forward when it was only 1-0 to Norwich but he sent the ball straight at Norwich ‘keeper Angus Gunn. Otherwise, had very little impact on the match.”

Gyabi stats in Plymouth humiliation at Norwich
Despite criticism for his display, Gyabi’s stats in the 70 minutes he had on the field at Norwich don’t actually make for terrible reading.
According to Sofa Score, Gyabi was Plymouth’s highest rated player aside from both Andre Gray and Mustapha Bundu, whose are both higher due to their involvement in the consolation goal. Of course, these ratings should be taken with a pinch of salt.
