Daniel Farke takes his Leeds United side to Watford on Tuesday as the final third of the promotion race gets underway, with 15 games left to play in the Championship run-in.
Leeds are top of the pile after 31 games, unbeaten in 13 Championship games. Two points separate Leeds and Sheffield United who started 2024-25 on -2, with five points between Leeds and third-placed Burnley.
On Tuesday night, Leeds take on Watford with manager Tom Cleverley under pressure at Vicarage Road. The Hornets have managed just one win in their last 10 games and will be keen to improve their form.
There is a degree of pressure on Leeds and Daniel Farke to prove that Saturday’s FA Cup defeat against Millwall will not derail the momentum that has been built. But Farke’s record against Watford is worrying.

Daniel Farke’s record against Watford is a worry before clash
So far in his career, the Leeds manager has faced Watford on eight occasions. Five with Norwich and a further three with Leeds, but his record is not a promising one – winning twice, but losing five times.
Indeed, all of Farke’s five games against Watford as Norwich manager ended in defeat. Three of those five came in the Premier League, where Farke has notably struggled as a manager – just six wins in 49 games.

However, there is a silver lining. At Leeds, Farke has secured seven points from a possible nine. Two wins, including a 2-1 victory this season thanks to goals from duo Largie Ramazani and Brenden Aaronson.

Daniel Farke provided injury update ahead of trip to Watford
There were concerns surrounding Joe Rodon and Dan James ahead of tonight’s clash, after Farke said they were missing from the squad on Saturday due to picking up knocks in last week’s win at Coventry.
But Farke has confirmed Rodon and James are available to play at Vicarage Road. The Leeds boss also confirmed that Max Wober has suffered a setback and will now require surgery to fix his knee problem.
Patrick Bamford is yet to return to team training but Farke is hopeful that the one-time England striker will return this week, ending a near six-week wait to overcome a hamstring injury picked up at Blackburn.
