The transfer window in England might have slammed shut last week, but Turkish clubs have until later today to make some final touches – and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants a player on Leeds United’s radar.
Solskjaer has impressed in his first few weeks at Besiktas, a side that were struggling to put together any kind of form under previous manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst despite a number of big-name signings.
Ciro Immobile, Rafa Silva, Milot Rashica and even Leeds target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remain with the SuperLig giants. Solskjaer got off to the perfect start, a huge 4-1 win over Bilbao in the Europa League.
He has since secured a win in the Turkish Cup and then away at Sivasspor in the League. But Solskjaer wants additions and has made a very late move to sign a player on Leeds United’s radar, Alvyn Sanches.

Ben Jacobs has confirmed Leeds have an interest in Sanches, with the Switzerland U21 ace having a hand in 17 goals in 26 games for Lausanne this season. He has a deal with the Super League side until 2026.
Sanches has said he will consider a move in the summer, but it appears Besiktas want a deal done before then. Sport 1’s Christopher Michel says Besiktas have made an enquiry but he may prove too expensive.
Lausanne want a figure that equates to £7.5m and with time ticking, Besiktas may run out of time. Michel said on X: “Besiktas have made an enquiry. But Lausanne are demanding a high single-digit million sum.
“Could be too expensive. What’s more, not certain that Sanches wants to leave just yet. He is apparently speculating on big offers in the summer. Let’s see what happens between now and February 11…”.
Sanches looks a real talent, Leeds need to get on the phone
It might only be Swiss football but to have had a hand in 17 goals in just 26 appearances from mostly, the no.10 role is seriously impressive. Still only 21, the France-born playmaker is showing incredible potential.
A move to Besiktas would be a step up, but he may struggle to play regularly given the presence of Silva and Gedson Fernandes – even Oxlade-Chamberlain. At Leeds, he would only have one player as back-up.
Of course, that is Brenden Aaronson. Leeds have been desperate to bring in an attacking midfielder and if any, Sanches has the potential to be that man. If Besiktas are serious, Leeds need to be on the phone.
