Leeds United are now facing competition from Middlesbrough and Coventry City for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
That is according to Team Talk, who report Kamara is expected to make a decision on his future soon with a move back to England currently his preferred choice.
Having held talks with the three aforementioned Championship clubs, it is said that Leeds are the ones pushing the hardest for his signature, having been linked all summer.
New Leeds technical director Gretar Steinsson is said to be ‘pushing to finalise’ a deal for Kamara, who is Daniel Farke’s number one choice to bolster his midfield options, as per the report.
The Whites are in desperate need of reinforcements in the centre of the park having lost Tyler Adams to Bournemouth at the weekend, who followed Marc Roca, Adam Forshaw and Weston McKennie out of Elland Road.
Leeds pushing to finalise Kamara deal
Leeds have been keen on a deal for Kamara throughout the window and according to The Fourth Official, a deal was on the verge of completion back in July.
It has not quite progressed as quickly as that but the same outlet did also indicate on Friday that Kamara would be finalising his Rangers exit this week.
Kamara is not in manager Michael Beale’s plans and has been training away from the rest of the first team squad in order to push through a move away.
As per the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds reignited their interest last week and it would not be a surprise if he was to be the first through the door this week.
He is said to have a £5 million release clause in his contract at Ibrox.
