Leeds now actively exploring 27-year-old with Adams future in doubt, £5m exit clause

Leeds United are once again exploring a move for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.

That is according to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth, who reports a deal for Kamara is a possibility again after they had initially considered an approach for the 27-year-old earlier in the window.

Kamara is a player Leeds are said to be looking at amid ongoing doubt over the future of Tyler Adams, who has been linked to a host of Premier League clubs.

Adams had looked all set to join Chelsea last week after they activated the £20 million release clause in his contract, before pulling the plug at the 11th hour to pursue moves for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

As per David Ornstein, other Premier League clubs are now on alert following the collapse of his move to Chelsea and it is therefore difficult to see him remaining at Elland Road.

Leeds actively exploring Kamara deal amid Adams doubt

Smyth first reported of Leeds’ interest in Kamara last month and a deal had appeared to be on the verge of completion, according to the Fourth Official.

Since then, however, noise surrounding Leeds’ interest has gone extremely quiet, despite Kamara having been frozen out at Ibrox and a £5 million release clause ready to be triggered, as per Smyth.

Rangers boss Michael Beale has spoken transparently on Kamara’s future this summer and claimed last week that he would ‘definitely’ be leaving before the end of the window.

And it appears as though Leeds are among the sides keen on doing a deal with midfield still an area that is in desperate need of strengthening.

Leeds are light on numbers in that area of the field and would need reinforcements even if Adams was to stay.
