CL club’s manager says 27-year-old Leeds want to sign will ‘definitely’ leave this summer

Rangers manager Michael Beale has confirmed Glen Kamara is ‘definitely going to move on’ this summer amid interest from Leeds United.

Beale was speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Livingston this afternoon, and provided an update on Kamara’s situation, as quoted by the Daily Record’s print edition (Saturday 12 August, page 61).

Leeds have been linked with a move for Kamara throughout the summer with the 27-year-old featuring on a shortlist of targets to strengthen the midfield.

Kamara has been training away from the rest of the first team squad at Rangers throughout the summer and has played no part in any of their matches so far, including the 2-1 win over Servette in the Champions League on Wednesday.

He is expected to be available for around £5 million but if Leeds were to firm up their interest, could face competition from the likes of Lyon and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Beale says Kamara will ‘definitely’ leave amid Leeds interest

Beale has provided a few updates on Kamara’s situation this summer, the most recent of which insisting there is no chance he remains at Ibrox.

He said: “It’s clear Glen Kamara is the player who’s definitely going to move on in this window. If that goes (through), then we’re not far off from where we want to be in terms of close to breaking even on our net spend.”

Leeds remain in the market for midfielders this summer having only brought in Ethan Ampadu so far to replace the outgoing Marc Roca, Weston McKennie and Adam Forshaw.

As per the Mail, Tyler Adams’ move to Chelsea could’ve seen Leeds firm up their interest in Kamara, though that transfer has since collapsed.

One way or another, it feels like this saga should be coming to a close in the coming days.
