Leeds United could firm up interest in Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara if Tyler Adams joins Chelsea.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who report Leeds are weighing up a move for Kamara as they draw up a list of targets who could replace Adams.

Adams is expected to join Chelsea in the coming days with Todd Boehly preparing an offer for the 24-year-old, who has a £20 million release clause in his contract.

Chelsea are mulling over whether to trigger the clause, pay it in instalments or pursue a loan deal with an option-to-buy, with Mauricio Pochettino keen on signing two midfielders.

Even if Adams was to stay at Leeds, Daniel Farke is in need of reinforcements in the middle of the park but his exit would leave them desperately short in that area.

Leeds weighing up Kamara move as Adams closes in on Chelsea move

Leeds have been linked with a move for Kamara throughout the summer but are yet to really firm up their interest in the 27-year-old.

That is despite The Fourth Official reporting last month that a £4 million deal was close, with a deal still not having progressed since then.

However, if Adams’ transfer was to go through, that could accelerate Leeds’ pursuit of Kamara, who has been out of Michael Beale’s plans at Rangers throughout the summer.

Kamara played no part in any of their pre-season friendlies and is currently training away from the rest of the first team squad.

Beale told Sky Sports on Friday that something could happen regarding Kamara in the ‘coming days’, and Adams’ exit could be the domino that needs to fall for Leeds’ move.
