Leeds United have agreed a £12 million fee with Swansea City for Joel Piroe.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who report a deal is expected to be completed as early as today with a fee having been agreed between the two clubs.

As per Phil Hay, Leeds stepped up their interest in Piroe yesterday and were hoping to strike an agreement between £8-£10 million.

Swansea’s valuation, though, was said to be closer to the £15 million mark but it appears as though a compromise has been reached between the two clubs.

At this stage it is unclear as to whether Piroe has reached an agreement on personal terms ahead of his move, with Alan Nixon suggesting yesterday it could prove to be a stumbling block.

Leeds agree £12m deal for Piroe

Leeds have been in the market throughout the summer for a new number nine and Piroe is among the names to have been linked continously.

The Whites have faced competition from Southampton who as per Team Talk, were ready to launch an offer today in an attempt to gazump Daniel Farke’s side.

However, it appears as though Leeds have moved quickly in order to get a deal done ahead of the Saints in what is a major coup.

Piroe has scored 41 goals across the last two seasons in the Championship since joining Swansea from PSV in 2021, though is yet to open his account in the league term

This would be a real statement of intent from San Francisco 49ers Enterprises at long last with eight days of the window remaining.
