As things stand at Leeds United, five players will leave the club at the end of the season with The 49ers yet to announce any confirmation on the future of players with contracts expiring.

Promotion means Leeds will delve into the transfer market this summer and make some major moves in order to keep the club in the Premier League. Adam Pope says Leeds will need to spend north of £100m.

But aside from incoming signings, there are decisions that need to be made on a number of players that currently reside at Elland Road. Phil Hay thinks Illan Meslier’s time at Leeds is set to end, as an example.

Leeds have three senior players with contracts due to expire at the end of June, in two months’ time. The club also have two players on loan in Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell, with no decision confirmed.

Largie Ramazani tells Leeds United teammate to “sign the ting”

The three players that are out of contract in two months, are Josuha Guilavogui, Sam Byram and Junior Firpo. Beren Cross has reported that Guilavogui will “almost certainly” leave Leeds when his deal expires.

That is despite Willy Gnonto urging Guilavogui to stay put for a season. Byram does not know if he will be handed a new contract, having signed a 12-month deal in the summer of 2024 after his initial season.

Firpo meanwhile, has been in superb form. His assist on Monday took him to 15 goals and assists and on Largie Ramazani’s Instagram post this week, the Belgian has urged Firpo to “sign the ting” and remain.

Junior Firpo stunned after being left out of Team of the Season

Firpo had aimed to lay on 15 goals and assists this season and has now done so. Yet, Firpo was not in the Team of the Season with Sheffield United’s Harrison Burrows picked, after his first year at Bramall Lane.

Dominican Republic international Firpo described himself as the Championship’s second best left-back on social media in a tongue-in-cheek post. Ross McCormack was left astounded that Firpo was omitted.

It is possible that Saturday’s trip to Plymouth, in which Leeds can win the Championship title, could be Firpo’s final game for Leeds after a four-year stint. The same goes for both Byram and Guilavogui.
