Former Premier League midfielder Jamie Redknapp has praised the 49ers for holding their nerve over Daniel Farke as Leeds United claimed another impressive victory.
Leeds established a six-point cushion over the Premier League’s bottom three with their statement win over Crystal Palace at Elland Road.
The win was a well-deserved reward after Daniel Farke pulled a tactical masterstroke, using Joe Rodon as an auxiliary right back when in possession, before he fell back into the centre of defence when Leeds lost the ball.
Farke was under pressure a little under a month ago, as reports suggested he could lose his job with Leeds if results did not improve.
Now, Redknapp has praised the 49ers for standing by their manager, despite a bad run of form, as Leeds secured an emphatic victory.

49ers praised for standing by Daniel Farke at Leeds United
Speaking to Sky Sports immediately after Leeds’ win over Crystal Palace, Redknapp praised Leeds’ decision not to rush into a managerial change.
Gary O’Neill was reportedly the frontrunner to replace Farke. However, Redknapp believes the Whites are now feeling the benefit of giving the German the opportunity to find a method that works at Elland Road.
Redknapp said: “I think if it had stayed like it was at halftime to the end of the game and he’d not changed the system, not got the performance, obviously not the result against Manchester City, I don’t think Daniel Farke would still be in a job.
“I think it was that precarious for him. But now you can see by sticking with a manager, sticking with a plan, you can see the results have come from it. Obviously, the Chelsea one was huge for them.
This was Daniel Farke’s best performance as Leeds manager – Prove me wrong! 💪
Palace had no answers for Farke's 'hybrid' system. Relive it all here!
“In the Liverpool game, they came back after being 2 down, 3 -2 down. Brentford, good point last week with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring. And then today, I thought they were brilliant.
“Crystal Palace look like they’re running on fumes right now, but they were excellent. Ampadu in midfield, Dominic Calvert-Lewin defensively. We were both very, you know, in awe of what they did today. They were great.”

Daniel Farke has the Midas touch with Leeds United
For a period this season, everything Farke touched seemed to go wrong, as his reactive approach seemed to be actively holding his side back.
The game against Nottingham Forest was the most glaring example of this, when Farke waited too long to make his changes, allowing the home side to establish a 2-1 lead in the game.

However, Farke has rediscovered his golden touch at Leeds, with his changes having a positive impact in the games against Man City, Liverpool and Brentford, before unleashing his new hybrid set-up against Palace.
Leeds have taken an impressive eight points from their last four games as a result. If Farke keeps up this form, Leeds’ relegation worries will soon recede into the past.
