Daniel Farke is pushing his luck with Leeds United fans as bizarre Nottingham Forest comment emerges

Daniel Farke is on thin ice at Elland Road.

Leeds fans are upset at the German after he suggested the fanbase – one he has previously called “emotional” – felt survival was secured after the win over West Ham, telling Sky Sports: “After we beat West Ham, people said survival was confirmed and now everyone is panicking about relegation.”

The pressure is mounting on Daniel Farke… should Leeds United sack him?⌛

Daniel Farke also spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live about the current situation at Leeds – making another comment which has the potential to enrage supporters.

Daniel Farke has got it all wrong with odd comment about possession

The term ‘clutching at straws’ is defined as: “Be in such a desperate situation as to resort to even the most unlikely means of salvation.”

Farke is now doing exactly that, as he boasts to the BBC about having more possession than Nottingham Forest in that 3-1 defeat at the City Ground last time out.

In full, the German said: “Performance-wise, it was not that we were played out of the park; we still had difficult away games at Brighton, and also against a Nottingham Forest side that was qualified for Europe and didn’t have the best start, but spent lots of money in the summer, and we went there and had more possession than the opponent.”

A side managed by Sean Dyche is always going to be happy to cede possession to the opposition, so it’s not worth boasting about whatsoever.

After all, Leeds only had slightly more of the ball than Nottingham Forest that day with 52% compared to 48% from the Reds – who still managed to have seven shots on target compared to just three from the Whites.

No Leeds fan with a semblance of sense would listen to what Farke said and agree – he must stop undermining a fanbase who are smart enough to see through comments like this.

It is time for the football to do the talking, with Leeds on a concerning run of four defeats in the last five Premier League outings.

The 49ers already have options to replace Daniel Farke at Leeds United and they wouldn’t cost a penny in compensation

Farke’s situation is not helped by the fact there are currently some big names without a job.

Brendan Rodgers has been linked to Leeds after departing Celtic at the end of October, a manager the 49ers previously considered after relegation in 2023.

Ange Postecoglou is another option who is currently unemployed, having been sacked by the aforementioned Nottingham Forest in October.

The fact either of these managers could be hired swiftly should inject some urgency into Farke, to say the least.
