Iconic manager says he regrets managing Leeds United, wishes he chose Wolves instead

Leeds United have had some interesting managers over the years which will no doubt regret their stay at Elland Road.

In recent time the likes of Javi Gracia, have tried and failed, but he is the best of a bad bunch.

Darko Milanic saw his post at Leeds stretch to a dismal 32 days and Uwe Rosler didn’t fair much better.

For all the bad coaches though, the Whites are on the right track with Daniel Farke, as the 49ers trust Farke at Leeds.

It seems like Farke is aligned with the plans, but another former manager has just revealed he fully regrets his time in Yorkshire.

Neil Warnock regrets Leeds United move, could’ve joined Wolves

Now it might not be too surprising since Neil Warnock left the Whites five points off relegation in the 2012/13 season in April, but regret is a strong statement.

The former manager has recently been in the headlines after Warnock called Farke’s yellow card a ‘disgrace’ as the Leeds boss received the card vs Sunderland meaning he won’t be in the dugout for the Sheffield United clash.

You’d think a proper Northerner like Warnock, who also had an excellent pedigree before his move to Elland Road would be a match made in heaven.

But Warnock claimed it was a case of ‘right place, wrong time’ as the 76-year-old spoke on Seaman Says about where he should’ve gone.

“I should’ve gone to Wolves, I went to see the chairman and I liked him,” Warnock said.

“I blame James (Warnock’s son) he talked me into Leeds. It was the right club at the wrong time.

“Certain things happened at Leeds which I didn’t deserve.”

Despite difficult tenure at Elland Road Warnock still respects Leeds

If the right time was found Warnock would certainly have found the right click at Leeds but it just wasn’t to be.

Warnock loves Farke and it seems as though he’ll be hoping for every bit of success for the Whites manager, including promotion this season.

You can tell he admires the current squad as well after Warnock called Dan James his ‘favourite player’ as the Welsh winger has been on fire this season.

Despite his admiration for the club, I don’t think lifelong Sheffield United fan Warnock will be cheering on Farke and the Whites on Monday night.
