Leeds United have already lost out in the battle to sign Liverpool’s Fabio Carvalho this month and now, the Championship outfit are leading Leeds in the race to land Luton Town defender Ryan Giles.
Carvalho has already made an impact since his move from Liverpool to Hull, after his loan at Leipzig was cancelled. The young Portuguese ace scored the winner for Hull in a 1-0 win over Sunderland on Friday.
It comes after Leeds were linked with Carvalho and then in Hull’s announcement of the Liverpool man’s arrival, the Championship side teased Leeds and Patrick Bamford – saying Leeds lost out to The Tigers.
Now, Hull could beat Leeds in the transfer market again. Luton’s Giles has been linked with a move to Elland Road with the Whites scouring the market for a left-back. He has struggled since his £5m move.
But a report from TeamTalk claims that Leeds – and indeed, Cardiff – are losing the race to sign the star. Interest in giles is rife after he starred on loan at Middlesbrough last season, laying on a huge 12 assists.

Giles would be the perfect addition on the left of defence, despite the improving form of Junior Firpo in recent weeks. The former Barcelona man has four assists in his last three Championship games for us.
But, with Firpo and Sam Byram renowned for their injury issues, having Giles would bolster the options at full-back and it may allow Byram to become more of an option on the right – easing the lack of depth.
However, Hull are proving ambitious this window and it looks as if Leeds may miss out in their pursuit of landing the former Wolves man. Certainly, Giles looks as if he will be on the move in the coming weeks.
