Fabio Carvalho has completed a loan from Liverpool to Hull City on Wednesday after being linked with Leeds United and Southampton – and Hull have teased Leeds and Patrick Bamford on Twitter.

Carvalho, 21, joined Leipzig on loan from Liverpool last summer. It comes after managing just 21 outings for Liverpool during the 2022-23 campaign. But he started just three of 15 games up until January.

It was claimed last week that Leeds, Hull and Southampton were all keen on landing the Portugal U21 star. But Hull have been chosen for Carvalho, as it is believed he will get the most game time at Hull.

The deal was confirmed by Hull on Wednesday and in their announcement video, Hull link back to the reports that Leeds and Southampton were also interested – using a hilarious video involving Cilla Black.

Using a clip of the presenter’s old show, Blind Date, Hull tease both Leeds and Southampton – as well as Bamford – to announce that Carvalho and Liverpool had chosen Hull over us, and Russell Martin’s side.

Leeds needed a no.10 and Carvalho would have been an excellent signing. The pocket-sized star would have been a wonderful addition for most Championship clubs – having starred for Fulham at this level.

In 36 career appearances in the Championship, which have come for Fulham, he has had a hand in 18 goals – scoring 10 and creating eight. Either from out wide, or as a 10. He would have improved Leeds.

Instead, he has gone to Hull and that will hand Liam Rosenior’s side a massive boost in their push for the play-offs in the Championship. Will Leeds rue the decision not to get him? You would imagine so.
