Leeds United are interested in signing Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool in the January transfer window.

That is according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has named the other clubs who are keen on Carvalho.

So, what has been reported about Liverpool winger Fabio Carvalho and Leeds United? Let’s take a look.

Leeds United linked with Liverpool winger Fabio Carvalho

Well, according to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United are interested in signing Liverpool winger Fabio Carvalho in the January transfer window.

The Italian journalist has reported on X that Leeds are “pushing” to get a loan deal done for the 21-year-old, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder.

Romano has noted that Southampton and Hull City are keen on Carvalho as well. Wolverhampton Wanderers have already made contact with Liverpool.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that for Liverpool to sanction a loan deal for Carvalho to any club, they need guaranteed playing time.

The Portugal Under-21 international joined RB Leipzig on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool in the summer of 2023.

However, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners decided to recall Carvalho due to lack of playing time.

The Portugal Under-21 international, who has been described as “a special player” by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, made one start in the Bundesliga and one start in the UEFA Champions League for Leipzig.

My View: Leeds United could struggle to sign Fabio Carvalho

In my opinion, Leeds United could struggle to do a deal with Liverpool for Fabio Carvalho.

Liverpool want the winger to get regular playing time. I am not sure if he will get that at Leeds, who have been linked with Burnley right-back Connor Roberts.

Crysencio Summerville and Daniel James are the two main wingers at Leeds. Joel Piroe is being deployed as the playmaker at Leeds, who are keen on signing Bournemouth striker Kieffer Moore.

Leeds head coach Daniel Farke also has Wilfried Gnonto and Jaidon Anthony as options out wide.

Moreover, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Carvalho, according to Fabrizio Romano. I think that Liverpool would prefer the winger went on loan to a club in the Premier League than to a team in the Championship.
