Dominic Calvert-Lewin ended seven-game goal drought
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s first goal at Elland Road came in a tight 2-1 victory, 3 February 2021, for Everton in the Premier League. In a pulsating and end-to-end match, Everton took a first-half lead through Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Just before the break, Calvert-Lewin doubled the lead with a far-post header from a corner, scoring his 12th Premier League goal of the season and ending a seven-game goal drought.
However, the game was far from over. Raphinha pulled one back for Leeds early in the second half, and the hosts mounted a relentless attack.
Everton’s victory was largely due to a heroic performance from goalkeeper Robin Olsen, who made a string of crucial saves to deny Leeds an equaliser.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored in front of a full Elland Road
Calvert-Lewin’s second goal at Elland Road came in a thrilling 2-2 Premier League draw, a match that saw fans return to the stadium for the first time in over a year, on 21 August 2021.
He opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half after a VAR review found that he had been fouled.
This was his 55th goal for Everton and his first-ever penalty for the club. However, Leeds twice came from behind to level the score.
Mateusz Klich equalised just before halftime, and Raphinha secured a point for the hosts with a fantastic strike in the second half.
It was a heated and entertaining contest where Calvert-Lewin’s early goal proved to be the first of four in a back-and-forth battle.
It remains to be seen if the former Everton player will be eligible to play in Leeds’ Premier League opener on Monday, and it’s against none other than his former club, Everton.
