Who is Dominic Calvert-Lewin?

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a striker who plays for Everton.

Calvert-Lewin began his career at local side Sheffield United but only managed a handful of appearances for the Blades before Everton snapped him up.

The Toffees paid a bargain fee of £1.5m for the starlet and it proved to be a shrewd move as he has played over 200 games and scored over 70 goals for the club. He also became an England international.

However, a spate of injuries seriously hampered Calvert-Lewin’s progress, when he at one point looked set for a move to a big six Premier League side.

Now, he has joined Leeds.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Leeds United transfer

Calvert-Lewin departed Everton after nine years at Goodison Park in 2025, leaving after his contract expired.

Leeds great Jermaine Beckford advised Calvert-Lewin to leave Everton the year before and he ended up following in his footsteps by arriving back in Yorkshire.

Leeds signed Calvert-Lewin on a three-year deal, with the striker turning down big money from Fenerbahce to make the move.

Calvert-Lewin has already scored twice at Elland Road for Everton, bagging a winning goal in 2021 and in a 2-2 draw the following season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin age and height

Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury history

Calvert-Lewin has shown he is a reliable source of goals in the Premier League and a quality forward but his injury record is a massive red flag.

Since 2017-18, Calvert-Lewin hasn’t picked up a single injury in just one season, 2019-20. Otherwise, he has missed games in every campaign.

A broken toe saw him miss 31 matches in 2021-22 and he was ruled out for 15 games last year with two different problems.

Given Leeds have just signed another injury-prone player in Nmecha, signing Calvert-Lewin would be a big risk.
