Leeds United have been linked with well over 20 different players since the January transfer window honed into view, but one player has just ruled himself out of a move to Elland Road.
Most-recently, Leeds are said to have opened talks for Andrew Omobamidele while Unai Emery has been talking about Aston Villa’s Louie Barry. Plenty of other players have been touted with a move to Leeds.
That is despite Daniel Farke making it clear that is not overly keen on doing much in the January transfer window. Even, if Leeds have suffered from injuries of late and may want to bolster their promotion push.
One player though, that Farke knows all too well, has just been asked if he would entertain a move to Leeds in the coming weeks, months or years. But, he’s said that he would much rather go “his own way”.

Daniel Farke’s son rules out following his Father to Leeds United
Currently, there is a 17-year-old making waves in Germany’s second tier – the same division that Ao Tanaka arrived from at Leeds having played for Fortuna Dusseldorf during the last couple of seasons.
Leeds often look at Germany’s second tier, with Dejan Ljubicic linked last summer. But, Farke’s son Luis Engelns is starting to attract attention after breaking into Paderborn’s side at the tender age of 17.
Engelns was asked by NW if he would join Leeds: “He [Farke] helps me a lot and gives me valuable tips. That made the jump to pros easier, but that’s not a big dream of mine. I would rather go my own way.”

Daniel Farke will certainly have eyes on his son’s progress
It is telling that Leeds have pursued players from Germany’s second tier in the past. Not only that, but Leeds even played against Hannover and Schalke during pre-season so clearly, Farke is an expert.
If he does continue to use it as a scouting pool and clearly, it is an underrated one judging by the signing of Tanaka from Dusseldorf, then the next-best young thing might be just what Leeds consider next.
Right now, that might be Engelns. While he is clear in what he wants currently, Engelns might be tempted if money is on the table and a clear path is presented into the Leeds first team under his own dad, Farke.
