Crysencio Summerville believes Daniel Farke has brought the best out of him at Leeds United by giving him responsibility on the pitch.
Summerville has been arguably Leeds’ player of the season so far with nine goals and six assists already, the majority of which have come in the last two months.
The 22-year-old has become the main man at Elland Road this term having shown glimpses of what he can do at times last season, which included the winner away at Liverpool.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Official Leeds United Podcast, Summerville admitted that some of his former coaches would regard him as difficult to deal with.
Jesse Marsch was one of them at times last season, but Summerville believes Farke has managed to bring out the best of him due to the conversations they have had.
Summerville thriving off the responsibility
He said: “I heard a lot from my former coaches when I grew up I was a bit of a hard guy to deal with but as a manager if you can deal with me, like Daniel Farke, how he is acting with me, I can be the best version of myself.
“He told me the same, I have to do my responsibility, but he lets me be free in what I can do the best, which is what I am trying to show every week.”
Summerville has often said in interviews that he wants to be the reason supporters come to the stadium and so having that main man tag this season has really allowed him to thrive.
Only Adam Armstrong and Sammie Szmodics have more goal contributions in the Championship this season, with his form having simply been too good for defences in this division.
Pundits having been waxing lyrical whenever they have watched him play over the last few weeks on so long may that continue.
