German media furious at Rasmus Kristensen just days after Leeds United agreement

After Rasmus Kristensen left Leeds United this week, he hasn’t been mixed with great reviews.

Kristensen’s tenure at Leeds was short lived to say the least as the full-back struggled to find a place in Daniel Farke’s squad.

The Dane adds to Jesse Marsch’s failed signings with the Whites as the 27-year-old has found a new place with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Leeds gave an abrupt statement for Kristensen’s exit, which just about sums up his time at Elland Road.

Although he’s started well with Frankfurt, Leeds fans were buzzing with Kristensen’s departure, and it’s clear to see why after recency.

German media fuming with former Leeds United player Rasmus Kristensen

It became clear that Kristensen was always destined to leave the club.

Farke clearly never saw him as a part of his plans, so it makes sense for all parties that the move was agreed.

Although Kristensen has impressed Frankfurt, it seems like the Whites might have gained the upper hand with the move after recent findings.

Frankfurter Neue Presse did their own player ratings as Frankfurt got knocked out by Archie Gray’s Tottenham side in the Europa League.

It’s safe to say the German outlet wasn’t happy with the performance of Kristensen in a very honest review.

“As always, with plenty of power and commitment, but also with a few mistakes. The permanently signed Dane had a tough time with Mathys Tel,” Kristensen said.

“His energy seems to be waning in the final stretch of the season. He tried hard, but achieved little. He miserably missed a huge scoring opportunity.

“He had to convert it in the 82nd minute. Two minutes later, he was in a dangerous position again and was just as miserable.

“That detracts from his performance; the line is sometimes extremely thin.”

Kristensen performance might have proved Leeds got away with one

It was met with mixed opinions when he left Elland Road, as he has shown his ability for the German side.

However, Leeds fans know from his one season at the club how he can be unreliable, and this statement from Frankfurter doesn’t come as a surprise.

Leeds officials were pleased to sell Kristensen, and it’s clear to see why after the ‘miserable’ display vs Spurs.

Kristensen’s statistics in Frankfurt 0-1 Tottenham
Minutes played90
Crossing accuracy %0%
Long ball accuracy %1/7 (14%)
Yellow card1
Ground duels won %38%

This shows the Whites might’ve dodged a bullet by not keeping the Dane, who didn’t turn up when Frankfurt needed him most.

There’s still time to prove the Leeds doubters wrong, but for now, it’s Farke and co who are the ones laughing.
