Leeds United could do with a player like Georginio Rutter in their team just now as the debate over the number 10 position at Elland Road continues to ramble on.
Rutter began the season in Daniel Farke‘s side but after playing the opening two matches against Portsmouth and Middlesbrough, he headed to Brighton for around £40 million.
Of Leeds‘ three big-name exits, Rutter has arguably settled the best in the Premier League, with Archie Gray having started just twice for Tottenham, and Crysencio Summerville in and out of West Ham’s team.
Rutter has a pretty decent return of two goals and three assists, though it has been a while since his last one in late October.
Rutter’s best performance actually came against Gray‘s Spurs, as he inspired Brighton to come from 2-0 down at half-time and win 3-2.

Leeds still have arguably the best set of attacking options in the Championship but the number 10 position hasn’t quite been the same since Rutter left.
Daniel Farke wanted a new attacking midfielder in the summer following Rutter’s exit but unfortunately never got his wish.
Brenden Aaronson has started Leeds’ last 19 matches in the Championship and has shown some good form at times, but hasn’t been able to replicate the performance levels of Rutter.
With Leeds fans calling on the club to enter the market in January, Rutter has conducted a mini question and answer session for his latest YouTube video, and there was one mention of his former club.
Rutter reeled off his favourite moment at each of his old sides and his one at Leeds perhaps isn’t too much of a surprise.
He said: “In Leeds, the play-off against Norwich. It was a very good atmosphere, I scored as well so it was good.”

Rutter’s form did dry up a tad during the second half of the season, but this table below shows just how incredible his form was early on.
He was creating brilliant chances week after week and it wasn’t until sides started to really double up on him that he quietened down.
