Leeds United take on Fulham in their next Premier League match this weekend, with the Londoners still looking for a win.

Going into this September international break, almost every Leeds United supporter and Daniel Farke as well would’ve jumped at the chance to be in 12th place of the Premier League table.

In their opening game, Leeds United beat Everton 1-0 but were then thrashed 5-0 by Arsenal, then drawing with Newcastle United in their last outing.

Despite Leeds United’s disappointing deadline day, and the fears about a lack of firepower, the going is good for Leeds right now. For Fulham, though, it’s been a tough start.

The Cottagers are winless in 18th place of the table. But Marco Silva’s side spent big on deadline day confirming three new signings, including the £35m signing of Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Update on Marco Silva’s Fulham future ahead of Leeds United

After a tough start to the season and after a hectic deadline day, Fulham were then faced with the possibility of losing Silva. The former Watford and Everton boss has been in place at Craven Cottage since 2021 and has established himself as one of the club’s best ever managers.

But when Nottingham Forest suddenly parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo, multiple reports emerged that Forest were looking at Silva among others. It’s now being reported though that Forest are set to hire former Celtic and Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou in what’s going to be controversial move among Forest supporters.

For Fulham, though, keeping Silva is great news ahead of the Leeds United clash. Farke may well have viewed Silva leaving suddenly as a great chance to capitalise and put some points on the board.

Could Leeds United hire Nuno Espirito Santo?

Ahead of the summer, reports emerged that Leeds United were considering Farke’s future at the club. He remained, of course, and he looks set to be given time to make things work in the Premier League.

But there are plenty of Leeds United fans who think Farke isn’t the man for the long-term. Then when Santo was axed by Forest, there were meant Leeds United fans calling for Santo to be appointed.

It’s highly unlikely the 49ers would act so drastically. But it can’t be denied that the Leeds United owners could make a decision on Farke’s future in the coming weeks if Leeds start to drop down the table.

That said, Farke doesn’t have the right tools at his disposal, i.e. firepower in attack, and a change in manager won’t change the lack of firepower.
