Leeds United could still look to bring in a new no.10 in the January window having failed to do so in the summer – and here are five options from Premier League clubs that Leeds could look to sign.
Back in the summer, Leeds had tried to sign players like Matt O’Riley, Kenny McLean and Nadiem Amiri. It comes after losing Brenden Aaronson to Union Berlin. But, nothing moved. Joel Piroe is playing there.
But the Dutchman is a striker and his form, to be fair, has been up and down – despite his impressive goal return. So, Leeds could sign a no.10 and here are five potential Premier League options to sign.
Facundo Buonanotte (Brighton)
The Argentina teenager has only started six of 12 outings for Brighton this season, after Leeds links in the summer. The Whites should reignite a move and if we do, it should be pretty easy to strike a deal.
Emiliano Marcondes (Bournemouth)
Marcondes has a decent record in the Championship. The 28-year-old has had a hand in 21 goals in 102 games in the second tier, for both Brentford and Bournemouth. His deal ends at the end of the season.
Dele Alli (Everton)
Dele is back in training at Everton after a long lay off with injury and personal issues. He could look to get back to playing football with a loan away from the Toffees – so why not? Seems an ambitious one.
Aaron Ramsey (Burnley)
Bought by Burnley for £12m in the summer, the England U21 man has struggled at Burnley – starting just three of only 10 outings for Vincent Kompany’s men. 29 Championship games, he’s scored eight goals.
Alejo Veliz (Tottenham)
Bought for £13m in the summer after scoring 19 goals in 63 games for Rosario Central, Veliz – who can play as a striker or as a 10 – has managed just five late sub outings. A loan could help his Spurs spell.
