Leeds United were reportedly in talks over a loan deal for Brighton man Facundo Buonanotte in the summer – but since then, he has played less than 250 minutes for Brighton, despite being in Europe.
Back in the summer, a report from Argentine journalist Victor Bilsky, as per the Yorkshire Evening Post, said that Leeds had been talking to The Seagulls over a loan transfer for the 18-year-old playmaker.
Buonanotte joined Brighton in January after starring for Argentine side Rosario Central, having a hand in six goals in 34 games. He has since managed just 21 outings for Brighton, scoring one and creating two.
Just 10 starts, and 90 minutes completed only once. This season, just three starts in seven matches – only two in the Premier League. Buonanotte is struggling for game time and might have needed a loan.

Buonanotte might need January loan after Leeds talks in summer
Leeds needed an attacking midfielder in the summer and tried to sign a no.10 – Nadiem Amiri, Kenny McLean and Matt O’Riley linked with a move to Elland Road. Buonanotte needs a loan move in January.
Whether those initial reports were true, and if Leeds go back in for the attacking midfielder remains to be seen. But given, Leeds failed to sign a no.10, Buonanotte could re-emerge as an option for Leeds.
Certainly for the South American star, given that Brighton are also in Europe and playing plenty more games, you might have expected Buonanotte to get more game time. That might convince him to go.
A loan is needed, especially at 18 and having played north of 50 games at senior level. He and Brighton will surely agree that a loan is needed and if so, Leeds should consider luring him to Elland Road.
