After a rollercoaster of a season, Daniel Farke has finally achieved his goal. Promotion to the Premier League.

It’s been a topsy-turvy campaign, but the golden gates of the top flight await Leeds United.

Josh Brownhill’s double for Burnley in a 2-1 win over Sheffield United is exactly what Farke needed as the party can get started.

The business was done earlier as Leeds thrashed Stoke City 6-0, and their attention can turn to Premier League football.

During the game, plenty of records were broken, which included a Joel Piroe masterclass.

Rapid Joel Piroe makes history for Leeds United

It was a day to remember for Piroe, as after nine games without finding the back of the net, four goals came like London buses.

Piroe has been getting scrutiny from Leeds fans, so it was excellent to see him fire a hat-trick in 14 minutes.

Not only has this propelled the Dutchman back to the top goalscorer in the Championship, but it’s also the fastest ever Leeds league hat-trick in the club’s entire history.

Lacking confidence? Not anymore.

The party is getting started as Leeds end 35-year drought for fans

As the Whites’ last promotion from the Championship came at the unfortunate time of COVID in the 19/20 season, it was disappointing not to see the connection with players and fans.

Marcelo Bielsa would’ve loved an experience like that, but Farke doesn’t have to imagine now.

With this considered, the last time fans had the opportunity to see a promotion in person came in the 1989/90 season under Howard Wilkinson.

35 years on, it’s happened again, and what a moment for the Elland Road faithful.

Farke’s Leeds the ultimate quick-starters in the Championship

This Leeds squad will no doubt be remembered for their high-scoring numbers, as 89 goals is mightily impressive.

The points tally is also sensational as Farke has achieved consecutive 90-point seasons, which has never been done before.

With the goals and points taken into account, it’s been proven throughout the season that if Leeds start well they tend to win, and after two from Piroe inside the first ten, Leeds have now scored 15 goals in the opening ten minutes of Championship matches this campaign, seven more than any other side.

Remarkable.

Piroe proves he’s a goal-scoring machine for Leeds

The Dutchman was excellent in every sense of the word against Stoke.

He outperformed his xG and looked a class above what he’s normally been.

His four goals certainly came as a shock after Piroe was mooted to be dropped from Leeds, but if he had been dropped, his new record of becoming the first ever Leeds player to score four in a first half wouldn’t have happened.

69-year record broken as Farke’s Leeds emulate 1956

This side have been highly impressive this campaign, and these last four games have proven why promotion was always the end goal.

It’s become clear that Farke’s mentality is unmatched, as Jayden Bogle praised Farke’s calmness under pressure.

This became apparent as Leeds fans were losing patience in Farke, but the German showed extraordinary resilience.

He put this mentality in their games, and now a 69-year-long record has been broken as Leeds had a five-goal lead at half-time in a league match for the first time since a 5-1 win over Everton at Elland Road in August 1956.

Incredible feats for an incredible team, and now they have the biggest platform of all to prove their worth.
