Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt has emerged as a target for Yorkshire rivals Hull City ahead of the January window – and he could form a new-look attack with a £6m player that Leeds want to sign.
Gelhardt is struggling for game time. When Leeds were relegated to the second tier, the striker – who is nicknamed Joffy – was expected to be one of a number of young stars that would become key players.
But that has not been the case. Charlie Cresswell, Leo Hjelde, Darko Gyabi, Mateo Joseph and Gelhardt have all been struggling to even make the matchday squad. Gelhardt has also picked up a few injuries.
Hull are leading the race to sign Gelhardt. It might be that Leeds are willing to sanction a loan for the England youth international. If he does end up at Hull – it could see him link up with a £6m Leeds target.
Ryan Kent is struggling out in Turkey, after swapping Rangers for Fenerbahce after five years at Ibrox. He has started just one of 15 League games with Fener. Leeds are one of a number of clubs interested.

Indeed, it is said he is ‘ready to leave’ the club and is ‘unhappy’ at Fenerbahce. Since the links, Kent has been left out of the squad for two league games and was an unused sub on Thursday night in Europe.
Now, the Hull Daily Mail say Leeds’ Championship rivals Hull are interested in Kent. So, it could see Kent and Gelhardt form a new-look attack under Liam Rosenior, if the Championship side pull off both deals.
Hull are in the mix for a play-off spot, sitting in seventh and level on points with Sunderland – only two behind fifth-placed West Brom. They will want to bolster and Gelhardt, and Kent, certainly does that.
