EFL pundit Sam Parkin has shared his score prediction for when two of the Championship’s most in-form teams Millwall and Leeds United meet at the Den.
Leeds are the only side in the division to have lost just once so far this season and head into the match eight unbeaten, a run which includes three wins in their last four since the international break.
Millwall, though, are on a fantastic run of their own. They are now five matches without defeat and three consecutive wins have seen them climb from 22nd up to seventh.
Neil Harris has added fuel to the fire of Leeds‘ trip to the Den by incredibly suggesting their impressive win over Burnley was simply a warm-up for the game on Wednesday night.
However, ever-present Millwall defender Joe Bryan will be absent, having picked up his fifth booking of the season last time out.
Parkin predicts Millwall vs Leeds score
Millwall hasn’t been a happy hunting ground in years gone by for Leeds, with the 3-0 victory last season ending a run of six matches without a win at the Den.
Leeds can take confidence from that performance 14 months ago, though, as a number of the players involved that day will also be tomorrow.
However, Leeds are facing a considerably more confident Millwall outfit tomorrow night and speaking on the Championship Score Predictions Podcast, pundit Sam Parkin is expecting a close game, with Daniel Farke‘s side just edging it.
He said: “I think Millwall have been excellent, I think they are up to seventh, aren’t they? Which is incredible. They are looking really creative as well.
“I think those numbers [in the] early part of the season are showing that there are quite a lot of truth in that they are a much better attacking force this season with the new-look attack.
“I think they will score, but difficult for the lads to raise themselves time and time again when you have not got the depth of maybe a Leeds and the other teams they are battling against. I will go for Leeds, narrowly 2-1 away win.”
Predicted Leeds XI to face Millwall
Farke was able to rest quite a few of his key players towards the end of the win over Plymouth Argyle and so it feels unlikely he will change much at Millwall.
After serving a one-match ban, Jayden Bogle feels almost certain to come back into the starting line-up in place of Sam Byram at right-back.
Manor Solomon will also be pushing to start but after his goal on Saturday, and the fact he came off long before the end, it is unlikely Dan James will be dropped.
Mateo Joseph’s work rate in attack could also be a possible change, though Farke seems keen on persisting with Joel Piroe at number nine for now.
