Leeds United head coach Daniel Farke has given his verdict on the performance of Illan Meslier against Plymouth Argyle.
Farke’s Leeds won the Championship match 2-0 on Saturday.
So, what has Daniel Farke said about Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier? Let’s take a look.
Daniel Farke praises Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier
Well, Leeds United beat Plymouth Argyle 2-0 away from home at Home Park in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Willy Gnonto scored the opening goal for Leeds in the 10th minute. Georginio Rutter provided the assist.
Rutter made it 2-0 to the West Yorkshire club on 72 minutes. Joel Piroe gave the assist.

One of the players who did well for Leeds is Illan Meslier. The £5 million (The Yorkshire Evening Post) Frenchman did very well in the second half when Plymouth stepped up their game and looked very comfortable at set pieces. Head coach Daniel Farke was impressed.
Farke told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Meslier: “I think he was outstanding today. He was not there with one spectacular save, we’ve seen he can do this, but it was one of his best performances of the season.
“He was solid in his decision making, strong at set-pieces, good with his feet. You could feel his appearance on the pitch today and as a goalkeeper when you return with a clean sheet you’ve done everything right.”
My View: Leeds United will win automatic promotion
In my opinion, Leeds United will win automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
Leicester City are running away with the Championship title at the moment. The Foxes are at the top of the table with 78 points from 33 matches.
The second and final automatic promotion spot, though, is up for grabs. Leeds are second, but Southampton and Ipswich Town are close behind.
Ipswich have lost their momentum somewhat. At one point, it looked like the Tractor Boys would end up in the top two for sure. Things have changed now.
I think that the fight for the second automatic promotion spot is between Leeds and Southampton, and I am confident that the West Yorkshire club will get the job done.
