Joel Piroe and Ian Poveda were amongst those to take to social media to laud Willy Gnonto after Leeds United’s hard-fought win over Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
Daniel Farke’s side moved themselves back into second place in the Championship table with a 2-0 victory at Home Park.
It was Willy Gnonto who opened the scoring against the Pilgrims. The Italian latched onto a long pass from Georginio Rutter and managed to tuck the ball into the bottom corner for his fifth goal in his last five games in all competitions.
Willy Gnonto lauded after another Leeds win
It has been a turbulent season for the Italy international. Gnonto, of course, lost his place in the early stages of the season after pushing for a move away from Elland Road.

Remarkably, the 20-year-old has been prepared to be patient in the months since. And Gnonto is now looking like his old self once again. He has now opened the scoring in three of the last five games.
Gnonto has now taken to Instagram following the victory over Plymouth. And there were plaudits from the likes of Joel Piroe and Ian Poveda…

Daniel Farke has another selection dilemma
Gnonto deserves huge credit for forcing his way into the side in recent times. Daniel James has been unbelievable for much of this season. So his injury appeared to be a big blow for the Whites.
However, Gnonto has taken his opportunity with both hands. And now it is potentially going to be James’ turn to be patient.
Farke faces a big call over who starts against Leicester on Friday in what could be a season-defining game in the promotion race.
On current form, you would have to say that Gnonto has done enough to keep his spot in the starting lineup against the Foxes.
But the good news is that Farke has such an amazing amount of depth to call upon for arguably our biggest game of the campaign so far.
