Leeds United have opened up a gap of three points between themselves and the relegation zone after securing a 1-1 draw against Brentford on Sunday evening.
The Whites are now three games unbeaten after Dominic Calvert-Lewin cancelled out Jordan Henderson’s opener to secure a point. Leeds are starting to gain some momentum with two fixtures left in 2025.
How long does Daniel Farke now have at Leeds? 🔮
Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and others on Farke's position…
But the tally of five points from the last three games only comes after Farke’s future was on the line. After a sixth defeat in seven games despite the improved second half against Man City, his future was in doubt.
The 49ers were ready to sack Farke if he didn’t get results against Chelsea or Liverpool. Well, Farke was the brains behind a win over Chelsea and his tactical tweaks saw Leeds comeback late against Liverpool.

Dominic Matteo cannot understand rumours around Daniel Farke
Then, on Sunday, Farke made the changes required to secure a point against Brentford. For the second game running, super sub Willy Gnonto came on to provide some magic and he did just that on the right.
A gorgeous cross for Calvert-Lewin to score his fourth goal in four games. On LUTV’s Extra Time show after Sunday’s draw, Leeds icon Dom Matteo said he could not understand rumours over Farke’s job.
“The manager is doing something right, we don’t give him enough credit. The rumours flying around about this, that and the other, some people not happy. It’s rubbish. He’s doing a great job,” Matteo said.
Answer this: Leeds United will finish in ___th place if Dominic Calvert-Lewin stays fit 📊
Six goals in five for the big man!
What will keep Daniel Farke in a job until the end of the season?
The point-a-game curve is crucial. If Leeds stay on it or above, then Farke is doing his job, and Leeds will almost certainly achieve their aims and that is to survive in the Premier League come May 2026.
But if Leeds go below that, and they did following the defeat to Man City with just 11 points from 13 games, then question marks will be asked. If it does happen again, Leeds won’t have the option of time.
That’s what the 49ers afforded Farke over the last few weeks and it has paid off. But if they slip below the marker again, Paraag Marathe surely won’t be so hesitant. Farke needs a win in his next two matches.
If Leeds can beat Palace at home, who play just 48 hours before in the Europa League, or a weakened Sunderland given their AFCON players leaving to represent their countries, then Farke’s job is secure.
