Daniel Farke could lose his job with Leeds United this week, as a report has suggested that the 49ers’ patience with their manager is wearing thin.
The Leeds players showed they are still fighting for head coach Daniel Farke at the weekend, as their valiant fightback fell agonisingly short at the Etihad Stadium.
Former Leeds forward Ross McCormack praised the Leeds squad for their commitment to their manager, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha scored to give the Whites a lifeline.
The Leeds fans applauded Farke at full-time after their spirited performance; however, the result leaves Leeds in the bottom three, having now lost four consecutive games.
Now, the 49ers are reportedly nearing the end of their patience with Farke, as the Leeds United boss fights for his position with the club.
The pressure is mounting on Daniel Farke… should Leeds United sack him?⌛
Leeds United could sack Daniel Farke this week
According to a report in The Guardian, the 49ers now have serious doubts over whether Farke is the right man to lead Leeds forward in the Premier League.
Despite Farke receiving backing from Robbie Mustoe after their performance against Manchester City, Farke could be sacked if Leeds lose their next two games against Chelsea and Liverpool.
“Daniel Farke is facing a defining week as Leeds manager, with senior figures at the club expecting him to be sacked if his side loses home games against Chelsea and Liverpool,” the report states.
“Leeds were unfortunate to be beaten by an injury-time Phil Foden goal at Manchester City last Saturday, but because it was their fourth successive defeat, and sixth in seven matches, patience at Elland Road is wearing thin.”
Leeds United have only won three times in 18 games against Chelsea 😐
Before adding: “Multiple sources at Leeds have privately conceded that Farke’s fate is in the balance, although there is sympathy for him in some quarters owing to a belief that results have not reflected some positive performances.”

The odds are stacked against Daniel Farke ahead of defining Premier League fixtures
Leeds’ defeat against Manchester City left the Whites in the bottom three with 11 points from their 13 Premier League games so far this season.
Although Farke can be proud of the way his players fought their way back into the game against Man City, the fact that they left the Etihad empty-handed means Leeds stayed planted in the relegation zone.
With two games against teams expected to challenge for the title this season, the odds are now firmly stacked against Farke as he looks to save his job.

While the German may feel this is a tough assignment, the truth is that the results in the build-up to these two games have done damage to Leeds’ survival hopes.
Ultimately, if Farke does lose the next two games and leave Elland Road, he will look back on the defeats against Fulham, Tottenham and Burnley as missed opportunities to put some daylight between his side and the Premier League’s bottom three.
