Daniel Farke has admitted that Georginio Rutter should probably be into double figures for league goals this season after Leeds United’s draw with Coventry City.

Georginio Rutter was one of the players who missed a good chance for the Whites as they endured another frustrating afternoon. Leeds failed to win back-to-back league games for the first time since August.

Georginio brings so much to the Leeds side. Remarkably, he provided his ninth assist of the season in the draw, setting up Crysencio Summerville for the opening goal against the Sky Blues.

Only Leif Davis has as many assists as the Frenchman across the Championship. But Georginio has only managed to score four times.

And after he missed an opportunity as Leeds searched for a winner against Coventry, Daniel Farke conceded that he should be doing better.

“We have improved a lot, but sometimes a game comes along that shows you’re not the finished product, you’re still a work in progress. It’s a process. We’re still far in the development of many players,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live.

“When I compare Georgi’s end products with last season, yes, but being there with clinical finishes is still what he could improve, he could already be there with double figures if I rate his chances so far. Daniel James has done fantastic in recent weeks, but normally such a situation one v one from five yards he should score.”

Whites boss needs to unlock Frenchman’s full potential

Georginio has played the most minutes of the quartet Farke has used most often this season. And yet, he is some distance behind when it comes to how many goals he has scored.

Daniel James has seven, while Joel Piroe is on eight. And Summerville is now into double figures with his 10th of the campaign.

He is capable of doing the most outrageous things. Few will forget Georginio’s goal in the win over Swansea when he did brilliantly to bring down Ethan Ampadu’s pass.

If he can improve his decision-making and become much more clinical in front of goal, Leeds have an absolutely devastating player in the ranks.

Farke’s challenge now is unlock the frightening potential which is clearly there.
