Pundit suggests Daniel Farke faces tough decision over 21-year-old Leeds player

Leigh Bromby has admitted that Daniel Farke faces a difficult decision over what to do with Georginio Rutter after Leeds United’s draw with Coventry City.

Georginio Rutter provided his ninth assist of the season to set Leeds up for the opening goal at Elland Road, finding Crysencio Summerville 10 minutes into the second-half.

Of course, Leeds fans have become used to being put through a range of emotions while watching Georginio. He has certainly managed to silence many of his doubters this season.

However, while Georginio is capable of the sublime, he is also guilty of not being ruthless enough in front of goal. And he also seems to have a tendency of overplaying at times.

But with Joel Piroe struggling of late, the debate over how to use Georginio and Piroe has started up again. And while Leigh Bromby has told BBC Radio Leeds (broadcast on 16/12; 17:20) that he is a big fan of the Frenchman, he noted that Daniel Farke has now got some thinking to do.

“He does so much for the team, his work rate, his enthusiasm, he creates his own chances, and like you said, he creates chances for others,” he said.

“He set up the goal today. He receives, he passes for Summerville and he scores. So really difficult to leave him out of the team because of the way he’s playing at the minute. And yes, he needs to add goals. But yeah, it’s a difficult one.”

Remarkably, Georginio is now joint-top with Leif Davis when it comes to assists in the Championship this season.

That is an outstanding return when you consider how far off the pace he looked to be in the months following his move to Elland Road.

But his talent is obvious. And thus, you do have to say that he should have scored a lot more than four goals so far this season.

Leeds have the attacking quality to blow away any side in the division. An Italy international with the quality of Willy Gnonto has been a peripheral figure so far.

But at the crucial moment, Leeds – Crysencio Summerville aside – are often found lacking. And that is one of the main reasons why there is such daylight between the Whites and the top two.
