Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has laid out exactly where the club stand on Harry Gray’s contract amid mounting speculation over his future.
Harry Gray celebrated his 17th birthday recently, which means he can sign improved professional terms with Leeds United or a rival club.
Leeds United News understands that Harry Gray remains likely to commit his future to the club, amid reports that rival clubs are circling the Leeds youngster.
Gray will not be involved in Leeds’ game against Burnley as he continues to recover from a hip flexor problem, which ruled him out ahead of the international break.
Now, Farke has explained where the club stand on his new deal, promising “positive news” over his future in the near future.

Daniel Farke promises “positive news” on Harry Gray
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Leeds’ game against Burnley, Farke attempted to clarify the club’s position on Gray as they look to fight off rival Premier League interest.
Now, Farke has stated that he expects the club will have some positive news to announce on Gray’s future when he returns from his injury.
Farke said: “Normally, we just speak about business once business is done, that’s one of my principles, and I will stick to it. Harry, first of all, is also with his hip flexor problems, out of team training at the moment, he needs a few more days, I expect him also to be back in the squad then.
“Of course, behind the scenes, we are also trying to build our squad for the future. We’re trying to do some business and trying to do positive negotiations also for us with players that attract us. And Harry, of course, is a young player. Yes, we see a lot in him. We have spoken about this.
“I expect also that there is some positive news in the future. Sometimes I don’t speak about any special player because I just speak about business once business is done.
“But, in general, it also makes sense, for example, if you extend a contract or announce the extension of a new contract, that you do this once the player is fit and available. So, for that, I expect also that it’s not too far away, that we will have some positive news, also with some players in our squad.”

Leeds United under-21s win in Harry Gray’s absence
Gray has been an essential part of the Leeds under-21 side this season, scoring an eye-catching hat-trick in the Premier League Cup before being included in the senior squad against Wolves.
However, Gray was unavailable for the under-21s’ latest fixture against Athletic Bilbao B, as the Whites’ young guns continue their impressive form this season.
They did not miss their talismanic striker as they secured a comfortable 2-0 win, with Alfie Creswell scoring the pick of the goals with a volley from the edge of the box.
