Daniel Farke is really happy with Leeds United squad player who has played twice this season

One of the reasons why Leeds United are doing well at the moment is because of their midfield.

Ethan Ampadu has been injured since September, but in his place, Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka have stepped up their game for Leeds.

Rothwell and Tanaka have formed a formidable partnership in the middle of the park for Farke’s team.

Their performances in the middle of the park have helped Leeds stay in touch with the Championship top two.

Daniel Farke shares his opinion on Leeds United midfielder Josuha Guilavogui

Josuha Guilavogui is just that, according to Farke. The Leeds manager worked with the 34-year-old defensive midfielder during the two-week international break and has been impressed with him.

Guilavogui joined Leeds in October 2024 on a free transfer. The Frenchman has a contract with the West Yorkshire club until the end of the season.

Farke said about Guilavogui: “For us, it was important to have Josh with us. Shown he can cover holding midfielder.”

Josuha Guilavogui is very committed to Leeds

Guilavogui made his debut for Leeds in the 3-0 win against Plymouth Argyle at Elland Road.

The former VfL Wolfsburg star has played a total of 21 minutes in the Championship for the Whites. Both of his appearances have come as a substitute.

The defensive midfielder is well aware that he is not going to play week in and week out for Leeds, but he is happy to do his bit for the club and is very committed.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds earlier this month, Guilavogui said: “When everybody is fit, the players who are best will play. I’m here to help, even if I can only give one percent and we can achieve our goals – I will be the happiest man in the world.

“I know my role. I’m 34-years-old and I’m looking at our younger players but, if the manager needs me, I will give everything.

“I’m a professional and I love my job. I’m doing the best job in the world so, in training, I will always try to give my best.

“The coach knows that if he needs me for five, 10 or 50 minutes in a game, then I will always be there and very happy to do it.”
