Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is on course for a third career promotion from the Championship as manager. And it could be a third Championship title as well.
Daniel Farke has won the Championship title twice before as Norwich City manager. Now, he’s vying to do the same with Leeds United, and the Whites are well on their way.
On Tuesday night, Leeds thumped Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road. It was another blistering performance from the Leeds frontline with Dan James stealing the show as he scored a brace, as Manor Solomon and Joel Piroe also got on the scoresheet.
As things stand, Leeds remain in 1st place of the table and boast a five point lead over Sheffield United who are in action against Middlesbrough on Wednesday night.
If Leeds win the Championship title this season then it’ll match the achievement of Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road in 2020. That season, Leeds put 93 points on the board whereas this season they’ve already got 69.
Daniel Farke matches incredible Don Revie record at Leeds United
Leeds’ form has been formidable of late. They’re unbeaten in 14 Championship games having won their last three, without conceding a single goal in their last in the league. But the last three wins have been particularly spectacular.
Before the Watford game, Leeds won 2-0 at Coventry City. Before that they hammered Cardiff City 7-0 at home. But in all three games the Whites have been two goals or more in front by half-time.
The last time that Leeds were two goals or more in front by the break, in three-straight matches, was way back in 1971 under the great that was Don Revie. In the 1971/72 season, Leeds finished 2nd in the First Division and won the FA Cup for the first and only time to date.

Tom Cleverley’s brilliant Leeds United prediction
Watford manager Tom Cleverley was humble in defeat on Tuesday night. He sung his praises of Leeds United and even suggested that they’re already a very capable Premier League side.
Having recently played Fulham in the FA Cup, Cleverly said after the Leeds game: “We go to Fulham, you see what a mid-table Premier League side looks like. That looks like something close to that level. They punished us heavily. That comes with pace, quality, a very high calibre of player.”
With so many talented players, Leeds arguably do boast a steady Premier League team. Right now though, they’re in the Championship. The job is far from done and there’s some really tricky games coming up for the Whites.
On Monday, Leeds welcome 4th place Sunderland to Elland Road, then playing away at Sheffield United the following Monday.
