Leeds United cruised to victory against Watford on Tuesday night, beating a sorry looking Hornets side 4-0. Every single player deserved praise on the night.
Leeds United found themselves in pole position by half-time yet again, going into the break with a three-goal lead courtesy of a Dan James double and one from Manor Solomon.
Joel Piroe then danced through the Watford defence and finished neatly for a fourth, as the Whites maintain their lead at the top of the Championship table, opening the gap to Sheffield United in 2nd to five points.
And Brenden Aaronson shone on the night. He’s someone who Leeds fans have criticised in recent weeks, but he showed his true class at Vicarage Road.
Leeds United fans hails ‘immense’ Brenden Aaronson after Watford win
Social media was full of praise for Aaronson after the win over Watford. Fans described his performance as “terrific” and “exceptional”, with one saying that the 24-year-old was “immense”.
One wrote of Aaronson’s performance: “All the usual pressing, but great on the ball tonight too,” as another added: “Aaronson gets us out of sticky situations all the time inviting fouls, and it’s really overlooked.”
The American has certainly been under the spotlight at times this season. But one fan suggested that first half against Watford was “Aaronson’s best 45mins in a Leeds shirt”.
One fan even asked: “Is it time to forgive Aaronson?”

Brenden Aaronson’s stance on staying at Leeds United
Aaronson owns that no.10 at Leeds United right now. But there’s a definite lack of competition in that positions and if Leeds are promoted this season, Daniel Farke will certainly need more bodies in that position.
And being such an important position, Farke could spend big on a new no.10 n the summer which could cast doubt about Aaronson’s Elland Road future. But the American is determined to stay.
Recent reports revealed that Aaronson wants to say at Leeds United and prove his worth in the Premier League. And it certainly looks like Leeds are going to the Premier League after performances like Tuesday’s.
If Aaronson keeps on performing like he is then he could be a regular Premier League starter next time round too.
