Leeds United wrapped up a 16th Championship win of the season late on against Sheffield Wednesday despite leading from the third minute, beating Danny Rohl’s side 3-0 at Elland Road.
Manor Solomon netted in the third minute but the scoreline remained the same for the next 85 minutes. Leeds had to withstand pressure at times, with under-fire Illan Meslier called upon to make a few saves.
Ethan Ampadu had to make an inch-perfect tackle when Josh Windass looked as though he was about to pull the trigger in front of goal. But Leeds got the job done, returning to the Championship summit.
A big part of getting the win was Largie Ramazani’s cameo role. The Belgian was back on the bench after scoring the winner against Harrogate in The FA Cup last week, but he came off the bench to score again.

Daniel Farke shares behind-scenes chat with Largie Ramazani
A £10m signing from Almeria in the summer, Ramazani was seen as Crysencio Summerville’s replacement though that tag was deemed unfair by Daniel Farke. He started well, earning a place in the starting XI.
But after scoring in a sixth consecutive league start against Watford in October, he picked up an injury. Since then, Ramazani has started just one league game and that came in the form of Derby County away.
On Sunday, Ramazani came off the bench to score a gorgeous left-footed goal – Leeds’ second with his left foot. Then, Tanaka flicked a Ramazani shot into the net and Farke was asked about Ramazani’s form.
Farke said Ramazani’s form since his injury had been below par, and spoke to him about it: “Delighted for him because I was a bit critical after his injury. Short cameos when he came back in were not convincing.
“We spoke openly and honestly about this. In the last game, a good goal – important for his confidence. A goal and an assist today will certainly do his confidence no harm, great guy. It is good that Largie is back.”
Largie Ramazani has seven goals and assists in 17 Leeds games
But despite his solid numbers, Ramazani has actually produced the least amount of goal involvements compared to Leeds’ four wingers. Due to his injury though, Ramazani has played the least minutes.
Numbers of Leeds’ four wingers in all competitions this season:
| Player | Games (Starts) | Minutes | Goals | Assists | Minutes per G+A |
| Largie Ramazani | 17 (8) | 691 | 5 | 2 | 98.7 |
| Manor Solomon | 21 (12) | 1161 | 4 | 5 | 129.0 |
| Dan James | 22 (16) | 1437 | 6 | 3 | 159.7 |
| Wilfried Gnonto | 28 (21) | 1783 | 4 | 5 | 198.1 |
Judging by the numbers, Ramazani is actually Leeds’ most in-form winger in terms of numbers even if his assist on Sunday was inadvertent. The Belgian actually shooting himself, rather than trying to create.
Given the evidence, Farke has to consider throwing Ramazani in from the start against Norwich this week. Of course, Ramazani opened his Leeds account with the equaliser at Carrow Road against Norwich.
