Daniel Farke provided some mixed new on the injury front ahead of Leeds United’s clash with Plymouth Argyle this afternoon.
Farke confirmed that both Archie Gray and Dan James will be missing after picking up injuries in midweek in the win over Norwich City, though neither are too serious. Pascal Struijk also remains out.
Gray could return to full training as early as next week after limping off in added time on Wednesday, while James is likely to return for Leeds‘ next home league match against Rotherham United.
However, there is some good news ahead of today’s FA Cup tie with Wilfried Gnonto back in contention after missing the last two matches due to a problem with his hip flexor.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference yesterday afternoon, Farke confirmed Gnonto has been back in full training for a few days now and will be back in the squad.
Gnonto returns to Leeds squad
“Willy is back in training. Good. Trained yesterday intensely. Trained hard on Wednesday too. Available for this game.”
Gnonto could come straight into the starting XI today as Farke looks to rotate his side somewhat following a busy week of league action which brought back-to-back home wins.

With James out and Crysencio Summerville potentially in contention for a rest, both Gnonto and Jaidon Anthony could make their first starts since the previous round of the competition.
This will be the first time Gnonto plays for Leeds since news broke of his imminent contract extension at Elland Road, which will hopefully be a bit of a boost to his confidence.
Gnonto is still yet to find his best form this season but there is no better time to stake a claim for a regular spot with James now injured and likely to miss the next two matches.
