Real Sociedad have ended their interest in Leeds United defender Junior Firpo.
That is according to Noticias de Gipuzkoa, who report the La Liga side had been keen to sign Firpo this summer but have now ruled out a move due to the cost of the deal.
Firpo is expected to leave Leeds this summer with Fabrizio Romano reporting last month that he is keen on a new challenge following the Whites’ relegation to the Championship.
However, amid tenuous links to Marseille and Real Betis, there hasn’t really been any concrete offers with the former instead deciding to sign Renan Lodi from Atletico Madrid.
And Sociedad appear to be the latest side to decide against pursuing a move for financial reasons, despite having qualified for next season’s Champions League.

Any chance of Firpo securing a move this summer are likely to have been put on hold for the time being due to an injury he is currently recovering from.
Daniel Farke confirmed last week Firpo would miss the next five weeks and so he is not expected to be fit until the very late stages of the transfer window.
Once Max Wober’s move to Borussia Monchengladbach is confirmed, Leeds will only be able to sanction one more international loan deal this summer which could complicate a potential exit for Firpo.
It would certainly be best for all parties if he was to move on permanently this summer, however European clubs have been quick to pounce on the loan clauses that became active in some players’ contract after relegation.
With Leeds keen to strengthen their left-back options, it is clear Firpo does not feature too heavily in Farke’s plans and so it is important that he is moved on.
