The feel-good factor is back at Leeds United as Kaiser Chiefs’ I Predict A Riot rang around Elland Road on Saturday night, the result of two brilliant results in four days under Daniel Farke.

Farke capitalised on momentum earned from the second half at Man City to beat Chelsea on Wednesday night, and then on Saturday, Leeds produced two comebacks against Liverpool to eventually draw 3-3.

The German manager has saved his role at Elland Road amid plans that the 49ers would sack him if he failed to get a result against Liverpool or Chelsea. Well, he did that and then some, picking up four points.

It has also seen a handful of Leeds players return to form. Anton Stach was in Troy Deeney’s Team of the Week, while Lucas Perri and Ao Tanaka have enjoyed their best weeks since Leeds gained promotion.

Chris Sutton makes a massive Dominic Calvert-Lewin claim

Dominic Calvert-Lewin now has three goals in three games, and four this season for the Yorkshire side. It was his penalty that sparked the comeback against Liverpool, a goal that will have meant much to him.

The former Everton striker is in excellent form and despite all the concerns about his injury record, he has largely avoided time on the sidelines, minus a couple of niggles. Chris Sutton spoke about him this week.

On the Monday Night Club, Sutton heaped praise on Calvert-Lewin as a “gamechanger” and suggested he could be considered for the World Cup with England: “Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been sensational.

“He has given them someone to hit, a focal point, a way to get up the pitch. A real handful. The game-changer is Calvert-Lewin. If he goes on a run, there’s no reason why he can’t make the World Cup.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin doesn’t believe in the rumours about Leeds United’s attacking threat💬

“To win in the manner in which we did, getting on the scoresheet, I feel we put those ‘we don’t have enough threat on the pitch’ rumours to bed.”

Sutton isn’t the only one to tout World Cup for Calvert-Lewin

An 11-time England international, Calvert-Lewin has been indispensable for Leeds. While an England call-up seems unlikely, Thomas Tuchel does lack cover for Harry Kane, ones that are at least in good form.

Ollie Watkins is struggling for goals at Aston Villa and Ivan Toney’s move to Saudi Arabia looks like it will cost the former Brentford man. There have been calls for veteran Brighton striker Danny Welbeck, too.

But Sutton believes if Calvert-Lewin can continue scoring, there is every chance he gets a late call-up with only one more international break before the World Cup. Stach feels Calvert-Lewin has a chance, too.

Asked if Calvert-Lewin can get in the England squad, Stach said: “Maybe. Everything is possible. He’s really important for us, for the club. I hope he keeps going, he keeps scoring. That’s most important for us.”

For now, Calvert-Lewin will be recovering after suffering a slight calf tweak ahead of the Liverpool game as he and the Leeds squad prepare to travel to London to take on Keith Andrews’ Brentford on Sunday.
