Leeds United’s win at Wolves has restored the feel-good factor at Elland Road again ahead of two Premier League games at home, before the October international break.

Anton Stach, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor all opened their accounts for Leeds in a crucial 3-1 win that saw Daniel Farke’s side come from behind to secure all three points against Vitor Pereira’s side.

A massive result for Leeds, that now sees them boast seven points from five games. Ally McCoist has changed his mind and thinks Leeds can still stay up and there is positivity circling Farke’s squad again.

This week, Lucas Perri, Willy Gnonto and Dan James are expected to be confirmed fit to play against Bournemouth on Saturday. Things seem to be back on track after the poor end to the transfer window.

Anton Stach thinks an England call-up is possible for Leeds star

Calvert-Lewin started his second Premier League game for Leeds having done so at Fulham, and coming on as a sub against Newcastle. It was largely a quiet day for Calvert-Lewin, managing just 36 touches.

But Calvert-Lewin reminded all what he can do. A brilliant header, that Calvert-Lewin feels has silenced the ‘rumours’ of a lack of attacking quality at Leeds. Stach spoke to Leeds Live about Calvert-Lewin.

Asked if Calvert-Lewin can get in the England squad, Stach said: “Maybe. Everything is possible. He’s really important for us, for the club. I hope he keeps going, he keeps scoring. That’s most important for us.”

The last time Dominic Calvert-Lewin played for England…

Calvert-Lewin has 11 caps for England, scoring four goals. He made his debut in October 2020, a 3-0 win over Wales under Gareth Southgate in which Calvert-Lewin started, and scored for The Three Lions.

His last outing came in the Euro 2020 quarter-final, a substitute in the 4-0 win over Ukraine. Calvert-Lewin wouldn’t play again in that competition as England got to the final, eventually losing to Italy on penalties.

It has now been over four years since Calvert-Lewin played for England, but if he can continue scoring goals for Leeds, there is every chance the former Everton man plays his way into Tuchel’s thinking.
