The disappointment of failing to sign any attackers in the final days of the transfer windows has been shelved to some degree, after Leeds United’s massive 3-1 win over Wolves on Saturday.
Not only did Daniel Farke’s side record a second Premier League win, but three of Leeds’ new signings opened their account in Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor, a record for the club.
A solid seven points from five games, with two games at Elland Road coming up before the October international break. Leeds are in a good position, even Ally McCoist now thinks Leeds might stay up.
However, while a win will have fans encouraged and believing survival is a possibility, the need for more attacking players is still clear. One player Leeds tried to sign in the summer just scored a Serie A brace.

Nikola Krstovic opens Atalanta account after £22m Lecce move
In the summer, Montenegro star Nikola Krstovic was strongly linked with Leeds, in Italian media. They claimed bids were made but ultimately, Krstovic wanted to remain in Italian football and has done.
He joined Atalanta from Lecce for £22m, after having a hand in 16 goals last season. Already this term, he has starred for Atalanta, laying on three assists in three Serie A games before facing Torino on Sunday.
Krstovic opened his account, scoring twice in a 3-0 win. After the game, Italian outlet Quotidiano Puglia claimed that Leeds did ‘everything they could’ to sign him and a deal at one point was ‘very close’.
More pressure on Calvert-Lewin with Leeds failing to sign Krstovic
Calvert-Lewin’s first goal will be a relief for the striker, but also for Adam Underwood and the transfer team at Leeds. His signing was a risk but after coming through 90 minutes and scoring, it is a big positive.
Calvert-Lewin thinks Leeds put rumours to bed about a lack of attacking threat. But there are a lack of options up top if players do get injured, with Brenden Aaronson starting two games in a row proving that.
With the likes of Krstovic, Harry Wilson and others impressing elsewhere, there is more pressure on the likes of Calvert-Lewin to continue scoring and fire Leeds towards safety until at least the January window.
